Art Wolfe Pro Tours
I’ll never be accused of being complacent or idle! I am perpetually traveling to attend tours, lead workshops, and present seminars around the globe. Visiting many of my most treasured haunts to teach workshops doesn’t always fit into my schedule, and I would be remiss if I didn’t provide opportunities for photography enthusiasts to learn from these cherished locations.
To that end, I’ve created the Art Wolfe Pro Tours slate of workshops – trips to visit several of these opportunity-rich USA-based locales – and I’ve recruited a few accomplished and credible colleagues to lead them in my stead. I’ve worked closely with these exceptional photographers and world-travelers on countless occasions through the years. Gavriel Jecan, Sean Fitzgerald, and Yuri Choufour have worked along side me as I’ve established the my curriculum, and are as well versed as anyone in the teaching style I employ.
With varied backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets, each Pro Tours instructor has a unique perspective to offer while also maintaining the spirit and essence of my message. If you’re interested in opportunities to photograph and learn from these lush and iconic locations, don’t hesitate to trust these respected associates to provide you with the knowledge we’ve cultivated together through the years.
Meet the Pro Tours Instructors:
Gavriel Jecan started photographing at the age of 12 when his father gave him his first SLR camera. His appreciation of photography grew while photographing black-and-white on family hiking trips in the mountains. His love of nature, rock climbing and traveling inspired him to become a professional photographer.
In 1994 Gavriel Jecan joined Art Wolfe, Inc. and he traveled extensively with Art the world over. He was a member of the Art Wolfe’s Travels to the Edge TV field crew and teaches photography around the world on his own photo tours and Art Wolfe, Inc. The quality and scope of Jecan’s shooting has gained him representation by the world’s largest stock photography agencies (Getty, Corbis, Danita Delimont, OnAsia, and Okapia).
Jecan’s images appear regularly in calendars and magazines worldwide, including International Wildlife, Backpacker, Audubon, National Geographic, Midwest Express, Nature Foto, German Geo, Asian Geo, Outside, Sinra, Terre Sauvage etc. He has published five children’s books: C for Coyote, Wild Colors, Alaska Animal Babies, Hide and Seek, and South West Colors.
For the last decade Gavriel has specialized in Southeast Asian locations. He lives in Thailand with his family.
Sean is a Deep Ellum-based environmental and fine art photographer whose images have been widely published in books, magazines, calendars, and more. His fine-art prints are found in private and corporate collections across the country including banks, hotels, hospitals, and convention centers.
Sean creates images that are simple, graphic, surreal, and that in some way evoke a reaction, provoke an emotion, or tell a story. While his photographic subjects are widely varied, he is repeatedly drawn to nature and wildlife and the impact of man on both.
Sean has won numerous awards and contests, including international World in Focus photo contest, the Coastal Bend Wildlife Contest, Texas Tech University’s High and Dry Competition, the City of Dallas Trinity River Photo Contest, and numerous others. Sean received the Rising Star Photography Award at the Fotofusion International Photography Festival and his career has been featured in Professional Photographer Magazine and other books. The Bravo network has featured his artwork on several home redesign shows. He is currently working on projects to document and celebrate the beauty and diversity of the Dallas’ urban Trinity River ecosystem and the vanishing Blackland Praire.
He lives in a converted warehouse in the historic Deep Ellum neighborhood in Dallas with his beautiful wife Karen.
Yuri Choufour is a Vancouver based photographer/videographer.
