Springtime is one of the best times to visit the Smoky Mountains. You’ll experience a parade of wildflower blooms, each wave transforming the mountains with brilliant washes of color.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park straddles the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. The sprawling landscape encompasses lush forests and an abundance of wildflowers that bloom year-round. Streams, rivers and waterfalls appear along hiking routes that include a segment of the Appalachian Trail. This workshop is scheduled to offer the best all around opportunities the spring season has to offer, classic mountain vistas, flowing streams, waterfalls, wildflowers, historic barns and perhaps even bears!
This tour will greatly enhance your skill as a photographer. We will be doing a lot of landscape, wildlife, and macro photography. We also have a conference room reserved for additional critique sessions and lessons.

- Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging and meals.
- We will provide hotel information for where the group will be staying. You will need to reach out to the hotel directly to secure your room reservation. You are not required to stay at the suggested lodge, as there are other options nearby.
Itinerary
Shooting schedules have the ability to be altered to effectively cater to the photographic desires of the group, as well as to adapt to changeable weather conditions.
Day 1
- Meet and greet at 8pm. Everyone can introduce themselves, and Art will give a brief description of the proposed itinerary.
Day 2
- Finding Your Inspiration lecture
- Field shoot
- Group no host dinner
- Download images from the day of shooting
Day 3
- Field shoot
- Group no host dinner
- Download images from the day of shooting
Day 4
- Field shoot
- Group discussions, critiques or lectures
- Group no host dinner
Day 5
- Lecture and critique. Learn from each others images while they are projected for the group. Art will adjust them in Adobe Lightroom and provide instruction.
- Workshop will conclude by 12pm
