Itinerary

Day 1: March 5 ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA, TANZANIA
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Air travel delays are possible, so please consider arriving early, possibly the day prior. We don’t want you to miss out on trip activities. Airport transfer is included on arrival.
Transfer via a private vehicle to a small and exclusive inn. The inn is a charming country estate that was once an old coffee farm and still retains the nostalgic air of a well-loved homestead. With ten acres of fertile greenery, the grounds are a natural extension of Mt. Meru’s sloping foothills and offer a sanctuary for the birds and wildlife indigenous to the area. (D)
Days 2-4: March 6-8 NGORONGORO CRATER
Early in the morning, we will head to the Ngorongoro Crater which is the world’s largest inactive,
unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to some of the richest wildlife
viewing on the continent. The mineral-rich floor of the spectacular bowl is covered with nutritious
grass, creating a paradise for both herbivores and carnivores.
The Ngorongoro Crater, located in Northern Tanzania, is recognized as the largest preserved caldera
globally and was originally a massive volcano. Now, after a long period of collapse and erosion, this
region features a vast highland landscape, with the notable Ngorongoro Crater, which is about 600
meters deep, at its centre. Estimated to be nearly three million years old, this ancient caldera is home
to one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. Black Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe, Buffalo,
Wild Dogs, large clans of Hyena and their ever present enemies, Lion all make for some of the most
spectacular game viewing anywhere in Africa.
Your accommodation here will be at Lion Paws camp. Situated on the Eastern rim of the Ngorongoro
Crater just 10 minutes away from the crater entrance, Lions Paw Camp rests under a forest of Red
Thorn Acacia trees’ and has some of the best views out over the crater floor we have ever seen. (B,L,D)
Days 4-7: March 8-11 KICHAKANI SERENGETI
Early in the morning after breakfast the group will depart for the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti
is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands which will allow for excellent sightings of
wildlife.
The Southern Serengeti is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. Our safari
is timed for the calving season, where a significant number of wildebeest give birth from January to
March. The ecosystem is rich in diversity, supporting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas,
making it a prime destination for wildlife photographers.
We’ll be staying at Sanctuary Kichakani, a mobile camp that follows the exhilarating journey of the
annual migration cycle. The camp is situated in a prime position for witnessing wildebeest calves.
Expect spectacular predator and prey action thanks to an abundance of wildlife, from zebras,
wildebeest and gazelles to lions, hyenas, cheetahs and leopards.
The name ‘Kichakani’ is Swahili for ‘in the bush’, and this is exactly where you will find yourself at this
extraordinary camp, a gem that celebrates the ultimate remote, close-to-nature experience. (B,L,D)
Days 7-11: March 11-15 NAMIRI PLAINS CAMP SERENGETI
Our final destination is the far eastern plains of the Serengeti, a remote area rich in wildlife
that lies at the intersection of endless grassy plains and woodlands. Spotting cheetahs is a
major highlight of a safari in the Eastern Serengeti, which boasts the highest concentration of
cheetahs on the continent and offers some of the best game viewing from January to June
when the Great Migration herds pass through the area.
Specific to this area are the large granite koppis/hills that punctuate the flat plains. These
almost inevitably have predators on them, making for great photographs. (B,L,D)

After breakfast the group will catch a charter flight back to Arusha for continuing travel home. (Internal flight included in tour cost) (B)
Please select late afternoon or evening departure flights to ensure you have time after our groups internal flight arrives back in Arusha.
