Experience the magic of autumn in two of America’s most iconic landscapes as we explore the vibrant fall colors of Grand Teton National Park and the wild geothermal wonders of Yellowstone National Park. Golden aspens, misty rivers, bugling elk, and snow-dusted peaks create an ever-changing canvas for photographers. As the seasons shift and summer crowds fade, we’ll venture into quiet valleys, steaming basins, and dramatic mountain vistas to capture the essence of autumn in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem.
This fall photography retreat is designed to be both creatively inspiring and deeply educational. Through a combination of focused classroom instruction, constructive critique sessions, and guided field excursions, participants will refine both their technical skills and artistic vision. Classroom time will explore composition, storytelling, and the use of light in landscape and wildlife photography, while critiques provide a supportive environment for reviewing images and discovering new approaches to capturing the natural world.
Our field sessions will take us through the spectacular autumn landscapes of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, where golden foliage, winding rivers, and dramatic mountain backdrops create endless photographic opportunities. Wildlife sightings can add an exciting dimension to the experience, and photographers often encounter bison moving through misty valleys, moose feeding along quiet waterways, and occasionally even bears. Combined with the region’s striking geothermal features and glowing fall colors, these elements make the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem one of North America’s most rewarding destinations for photographers.
