For those who have been looking for a different, more intimate and intensive Olympic Peninsula experience—look no further! Be a part of a small group photographing together in the cathedral-like Quinault Rainforest staying at the luxurious and historic Lake Quinault Lodge. We will dine together, photograph together, and explore the remote regions of the beautiful Olympic National Park.
In an attempt to offer something different from our previous Olympic Peninsula workshops we are going to include some new locations and projects to work on in the field using 6-stop neutral density filters.
This special small group retreat will focus on finding inspiration for abstract art in nature. We found some wonderful locations that consistently yield some beautiful abstract imagery. Art will also share some of his new techniques for taking an otherwise dull scene and turning it into something that is uniquely yours, a beautiful piece of abstract art.
The love of abstract art stretches far beyond its vibrant colors and seemingly random shapes and forms. It captivates us because of its undeniable power to ignite our curiosity, to push the boundaries of our imagination, and to challenge our perception of what art can be.
If you are interested in taking your photography to the next level and pushing yourself to new creative limits this is the retreat for you!
For those of you that have partners that are not photographers, please note that couples are welcome! You may bring your spouse so they can help you enjoy the luxurious rooms that the beautiful Lake Quinault Lodge has to offer. They can join the group for meals and the final critique at the end of the workshop if they like as well.

I love photographing in the Olympic Peninsula and it seems like every time I am leaving I am wishing for more time to photograph in this beautiful region. So I have decided to provide an exclusive photography retreat which will not only grant me additional time in the field to teach, but also a more extended period of time to get to know each of the participants. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to photograph with a small group in one of my favorite places to visit.
