Wilderness envelops most of the Olympic Peninsula, an unrefined and enchanting place that promises craggy, snowcapped peaks, pristine evergreen forests, and driftwood-covered coastlines. This is a wonderland where the scent of saltwater and fir hang in the air and the horizon sometimes seems to make the entire world appear to be shades of blue and green and gold.

Itinerary
Shooting schedules have the ability to be altered to effectively cater to the photographic desires of the group, as well as to adapt to changeable weather conditions.
Day 1:
- Meet and greet at 8pm. Everyone can introduce themselves, and Art will give a brief description of the proposed itinerary.
- Brief presentation centered around the photo opportunities to be had in this region.
Day 2:
- Morning Lecture: Art will provide an informative lecture showcasing the highlights of the locations we will visit and techniques to best capture the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula.
- Field session: After the lecture the group will head into the field to use the new techniques that Art just shared in his lecture. We will grab lunch along the way and the group will eat together in the field. If the water is calm we may stop at Lake Crescent to photograph the fall color reflections on the lake. Following that the group will head out to Sol Duc Falls to photograph the falls and capture abstract images of the moving water.
- We will head back to the lodge to clean up before dinner.
- Group no host dinner
- Download images from the day of shooting
Day 3:
- Field shoot: Today we will head straight into the field for a full day of shooting. Again we will pick up lunch to eat together in the field. Our first stop will be the Hoh Rainforest where the forest displays subtle reds, oranges, and yellows on bigleaf and vine maples, contrasting with the lush green evergreens. We may even see some Roosevelt elk as it is their breeding season.
- After our first field session the group will head into Forks, WA for an early pizza dinner together. They do have vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options available. (Dinner provided as part of the workshop)
- Following our dinner we will head back out into the field to photograph the beach at sunset. There will be opportunities to photograph abstract imagery on the beach as well, while we wait for sunset.
- After sunset the group will head back to Port Angeles.
Day 4:
- This day is the grand finale, when Art will critique everyone’s images! He will edit the images while using Adobe Lightroom as the images are projected on a screen so everyone can watch and learn from Art’s editing style. It is a very informative process to not only see your own images, but the rest of the group as well.
- After the critique the group will say their goodbye’s and head home. The workshop will conclude by 1:00pm.
